These concise volumes provide comprehensive overviews for high school students entertaining the idea of a career in STEM. Each brief book begins with an introduction regarding the required and necessary educational level for the field. Following chapters discuss the various types of careers available under the broad strokes of the field covered in each of the titles. For example, in the book Cybersecurity Careers, the chapters cover such diverse fields as ethical hacker, security auditor, and cryptologist. The beginning of each chapter contains a sidebar listing the topics covered for that particular career: educational requirements, personal qualities, certification and licensing, working conditions, salary range, number of jobs in the field, and outlook for the future of the field. The books do not have numerous colorful graphics or primary colored pages to entice the reluctant reader, serving instead as a resource for serious students looking for information about careers in challenging fields. Included at the end of each book is the link for the U.S. Department of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook website where students can locate more information about these careers. This series is needed in any high school library or other departments in the school wanting to increase their holdings on career choices for high school students.
