This is a highly relevant series for our times that will help students understand what the various current issues are and how they came about, as well as what actions are being taken to address the concerns, and why some of those actions are controversial. Each volume follows a similar format that includes an introduction highlighting the issues, followed by chapters that trace the actions taken to solve the controversies. This series is well documented, with the authors numbering each of their resources in citation format and including all of them in a list at the end of each book. To aid the reader, an annotated list of organizations and websites has been included. Significant quotes are highlighted and numbered throughout the text and readers can easily find the source for the quote in the source notes. Each full-color photograph also includes captions. In most chapters, readers will find a “pro” and “con” dialog box that includes the respective source for the argument. The series is also available in eBook format. The authors of this series successfully provide the reader with essential context for these ongoing threats to our civil liberties. Additional Resources. Index. Table of Contents. Websites.
