This four-volume series explores the dark side of the information explosion. The books cover various topics focused on the potential dangers inherent in social media interaction using the publisher's familiar and excellent format. The titles contain interesting sidebars, graphs, images, and outstanding research. Best of all is the fact that the heavy use of “Tech Talk” in the titles is made both understandable and useful to readers. Our students use social media constantly. Now more than ever, these titles shine a much needed critical light on various issues and provide an introduction to skills that can be lifesaving. I have stood at the graves of children who took their own lives as a result of the bullying and fear sparked by social media. Teachers and counselors often try to help teens, but we sometimes don’t know what’s happening in their various social media spheres. These books present teenagers with permanent solutions to transitory problems. A list of organizations and websites that provide additional information about the topics is included at the end of each title. This series is a must-have for middle and high school students, and I believe that teachers and parents should read through the titles as well. Additional Resources. Index.
